Two people, including a minor, have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of an Arizona state police officer responding to a disturbance call and a civilian at the scene.
Gila River Police Officer Joshua Breeze and a second, unnamed victim were killed around 2 a.m. Saturday at a home in Santan, Gila River Indian Community District 4, according to Fox 10. Four other people, including another police officer, were shot and wounded. The media reported the news.
The FBI and local police have not yet released the identities or motives of the suspects. Both suspects were injured in Saturday’s shootout and are currently undergoing treatment. NBC reported.

According to the media, the FBI said, “While the FBI does not comment on specifics of an investigation, the FBI and Gila River Police Department are working collaboratively to investigate all angles of the investigation through interviews, evidence collection, and information sharing. The pace of this investigation will vary greatly given the need for methodical and thorough evidence collection.”
Authorities said a “charging decision” would be made against the two suspects once the investigation is complete.

Brees is still in training and has been with the police department for less than a year, Fox News Digital previously reported.
The Gila River Police Department said in a Facebook post that the incident involved a large group of people and that multiple gunshots were heard.
“We were scared. We heard gunshots and got scared, we all fell to the ground,” said the man, who spoke on condition of anonymity. He told KPNX.
“I believe I speak for our entire community when I say we are deeply saddened by the officers who were killed and injured and all of the community members affected by this tragic violence,” Gila River Indian Community President Steven Lo Lewis said in a statement. “Nothing is more heartbreaking than a life cut short.”
GRPD did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office said on its Facebook page that Brees’ father was a deputy who died in a car accident in 2006.
