Houthi rebels claimed to have targeted the Eisenhower for a second time on June 1, according to Reuters, who reported that the rebels also claimed to have targeted a US destroyer and three other ships.
Social media users have shared videos of a ship on fire, claiming it is the Eisenhower.
““Yemen attacked the aircraft carrier Eisenhower. It was carried out with a ballistic cruise missile, the hit was precise and direct. The video was released, but the US remains silent. If confirmed, the barefoot warriors will have inflicted the greatest humiliation on a nation that is on the edge of collapse,” one user wrote.
However, this claim is false: Through reverse image and keyword searches, Check Your Fact has determined that the video likely shows the HSV Swift, a UAE ship that was attacked by Houthis in October 2016. The Washington Post.

A Pentagon spokesman told Check Your Facts that claims the Houthis targeted the Eisenhower and attacked a destroyer were false. The Swift was not destroyed in the attack, but it was heavily damaged, the Pentagon said. Mercury.
