Train hits truck in Georgia

The truck driver was lucky to survive, having escaped from the cab of his tractor-trailer just before the train struck it.
The shocking footage was captured on Tuesday on Allatoona Road, near Exit 283 on Interstate 75 in Bartow County, just outside Atlanta, local television station WSB reported.
Zach Hatcher, of Georgia, started recording behind a tractor-trailer parked on the tracks. He could hear the train’s horn, the crossing lights flashing and the bell ringing, and the sight of the train’s headlights approaching before hearing a loud bang.
Hatcher can be heard in the video saying, “A f**king train hit my truck,” then asking the truck driver, “Are you OK?”

After the collision, the train remains stationary on the tracks, but the truck’s cargo can be seen scattered all over the place.
“The engineer and conductor both stated they saw the truck stopped on the tracks. When they saw the truck they immediately applied the brakes, but it was too late,” Emerson Police Capt. Lisa Fuller told ABC News.

According to authorities, Tuesday’s accident was the eighth recorded at the same crossing since 2017, with other trucks also stranded there due to the turning radius near the tracks. Fortunately, no one was injured in this latest incident, which was caught on camera.
“We’ve had previous incidents where drivers were unable to exit their vehicles,” Fuller said.
