Some White House reporters who have regular contact with President Biden acknowledged that they were “reluctant” to reveal anything about Biden’s mental breakdown before last week’s debate, in part because of the attention it would get from “right-wing media.”
Since Biden’s shocking debate performance, the legacy media has faced fierce backlash from critics who accuse them of participating in a cover-up on the president’s behalf.
CNN reported Tuesday that reporters working at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue regret not following up on the political bombshell more seriously.

But some acknowledged they did not want to weigh in on “right-wing talking points” about the 81-year-old Biden.
“Biden’s age has long been a talking point on the right, but the White House was quick to point that out to reporters, which may have inadvertently thwarted any serious investigation.” CNN reported:.

The report accused “right-wing media figures” of sharing “deceptively edited footage” of Biden, citing footage of him at the G7 summit giving a thumbs-up to a parachutist off-camera, away from other world leaders, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni inviting Biden back to the group for a photo-op, denying allegations that Biden was “wandering around.”
“Right-wing media has been calling him demented since day one, which wasn’t true,” an anonymous reporter told CNN. “Every time they reported on his age, they were actually solidifying and giving credibility to their naysayers in some way.”

Critics slammed the excerpt from CNN’s report on social media.
“By simply existing and telling things like it is, conservative media has ‘blocked’ traditional reporters from seriously investigating Biden’s intellectual competency,” Andrew Carr, a reporter for the Washington Free Beacon, responded.
“How pathetic and boring. I thought journalism was about ‘following the facts,'” Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich said in her criticism of White House reporters.

“The media as a whole have been unwilling to investigate Biden’s apparent senility because their political opponents have accurately portrayed him as senile. They are simply freely admitting they have no interest in a story that would damage their party,” Outkick reporter Ian Miller said.
