An illegal immigrant who has been deported from the United States at least once has been charged with raping a child in Utah.
Those charges, the nature of which is unclear, led to his detention by immigration authorities, and less than two weeks later, an immigration judge ordered him deported.
On July 4th at approximately 3:00 p.m., Francisco Lopez Ramirez, a 42-year-old Mexican national residing in the United States illegally, was arrested in Provo, Utah. Few details Utah County, where the charges against him and the circumstances of his arrest are being reported. Prison Records They confirmed that Lopez Ramirez has not only been arrested, but has also been charged with child rape and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, believed to be 16 or 17 years old.
According to jail records, ICE subsequently issued an immigration detention warrant against him, making him “non-bailable.”The Blaze-News reached out to the Enforcement and Removal Operations of the ICE Field Office in Salt Lake City to get more information about the suspect.
ERO told us Lopez-Ramirez had been arrested and deported at least once before, more than a decade ago, and on January 31, 2010, he was “found living in Utah” after being arrested on “local charges,” an ERO spokesperson told Blaze News.
Those charges, the nature of which is unclear, led to him being detained by immigration authorities, and less than two weeks later, an immigration judge ordered Lopez Ramirez deported to Mexico, an ERO spokesperson told The Blade News.
Lopez-Ramirez must have then illegally re-entered the U.S. “without undergoing an immigration inspection,” because ERO has no record of when or where he entered the country. After ICE officials learned of his arrest in Provo on July 4 on a child rape charge, they issued an immigration detention warrant against him that same day.
It is unclear when Lopez-Ramirez is next scheduled to appear in court. Jail records describe him only as 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. No photo identification was provided at the time of his arrest.
