Pennsylvania State Police have released the names of the three protesters who were shot and killed during an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a rally in Butler County on Saturday.

The deceased victim was identified as Corey Comperatore, 50, of Thurber, Pennsylvania.

The second victim has been identified as David Duch, 57, of New Kensington, Pennsylvania, and is in stable condition. The third victim has been identified as James Copenhaver, 74, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, and is also in stable condition.

“You’ve seen the news and are stunned at how divided we are, and finally the Marine Corps Federation has been shocked by this fact. We are deeply saddened to report that one of the civilians shot at our rally was one of our own,” Matt Popovich, vice commander of the Marine Corps Federation’s 8th District of Pennsylvania, said in a Facebook post.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro Ordered In Comperatore’s honor, U.S. and state flags will be flown at half-staff at all state facilities, public buildings and grounds.

Comperatore, 50, was the former fire chief of Buffalo Township, a volunteer fire department, according to local news station WPXI.

Shapiro said he spoke with Comperatore’s wife on Sunday and was told he was a religious man.

“Last night we lost a fellow Pennsylvanian,” Shapiro said at a news conference. “Corey Comperatore was the father of a daughter. Corey was a firefighter. Corey attended church every Sunday. Corey loved his community and especially his family. Corey was a huge supporter of the former president and was thrilled to be with him in the community last night.”

At a press conference on Sunday, Shapiro called on Americans to pray together and turn away from hatred and malice.

“Now is a moment when we all have a responsibility to ease tensions, move beyond the hateful rhetoric that exists, and seek a better, brighter future for our country. Please join Lori and me in praying for the two Pennsylvanians who remain in critical condition, the family of Corey Comperatore, and former President Donald Trump,” Shapiro said.

The FBI is investigating the shooting as an assassination attempt.
