MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough on Thursday called on President Biden to end his reelection campaign, with the TV host blasting the president’s aides for keeping him in the race.
“If this drags on, it’s not going to be a good thing,” Scarborough said in a lengthy speech on his talk show, “Morning Joe.”
Scarborough, who has staunchly defended the 81-year-old president in recent weeks despite growing calls for him to resign, called on those close to Biden to help the president “do the right thing.”
“At this point, it’s incumbent on the people around Joe Biden to stand up and help the president, help their loved ones and do the right thing,” he said.
“The anger I’m hearing is directed at the people who are isolating him and at the people who have some financial interest or other benefit in keeping him in the race. That’s the real anger,” Scarborough continued.
“It’s widespread. Joe Biden deserves better treatment. He deserves better treatment than what he’s getting from the people closest to him.”
