According to reports, a crazed man who was declared dead by the Indian government went on a heinous spree of stabbing three people to prove he was still alive.
Baburam Bir, a resident of Mitra village in Balotra district in northwest India, received a death certificate in his name from the government and assumed his property would be seized. According to Indian media outlet News 18:.
He tried to rectify that, but as a last resort to attract the government’s attention to show he was alive, he allegedly decided to storm a local school, take hostages and stab several people.
Bir allegedly entered Churi Bela Dharana School in Balotra on July 19 with a knife and a bottle of petrol.
According to local reports, the suspect is said to have taken students and teachers hostage and stabbed two school staff members and a parent.
Acting Principal Hardayal and teacher Suresh Kumar sustained serious injuries in the attack. WION reportedAll the injured were rushed to a hospital in Jodhpur.

He told police that after receiving the death notice, he thought the government was trying to confiscate his property.
To prove he was still alive, he planned to attack the school so he would be put back on the government’s records if he was arrested.
