Is the media working with the Democrats to claim that VP Kamala Harris was not the Secretary of State for Border Affairs?
On Thursday, Fox News senior correspondent Peter Doocy clashed with White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre over talking point cards being distributed to Democrats in Congress.
“Do you think that if someone had to address the root causes of migration and migration to the border decreased, the border issue would no longer be a hot topic now?”
The card argues that Harris has never been a “border czar,” that the position never existed and that Republicans “invented” it. Her only job, the argument goes, was to fight the “root causes” of migration from a handful of Central American countries.
And, of course, the card asserts that Harris was successful at his job, whatever that may actually be.
“Democrats in Congress are being given these cards with talking points about the Vice President and the border. Do you know who’s handing them out?” Doocy asked.
“I have no idea. I think you’d be better off asking her campaign,” Jean-Pierre replied with a grin.
When Doocy pressed him on the issue, Jean-Pierre predictably blamed Republicans and Donald Trump for the border crisis, but her response only gave Doocy more fodder for questions.
“Do you think that if someone had to address the root causes of migration and migration to the border decreased, the border issue would no longer be a hot topic?” he asked.
Of course, this question gets to the heart of the matter: even if Harris was only in charge of the “root causes” of the migrant crisis, the border crisis has been a major issue throughout the Biden administration, and she clearly dereliction of duty.
Unfortunately, Jean-Pierre did not respond to Doocy’s follow-up questions, instead again blaming Republicans for the problems that have occurred under President Joe Biden and Harris’ leadership.
Meanwhile, the media has reported that Harris has never been a “border czar.” Match Talking points on cards.
While it is true that Harris was never given the official title of “Minister for Border Affairs”, no one disputes that she carried out the duties of that role for the past three years.
It was only after Biden finished his reelection campaign and Harris became the presumptive Democratic nominee that the media began to claim that wasn’t true.
