NY police pull over man for not wearing seatbelt and find he’s a child molester wanted on additional child rape charges

New York Police Department Stopped the man It turns out he had been charged with minor traffic offenses, had been convicted of child molestation, and was a fugitive on child rape charges.

And at the time, he was driving children’s amusement rides to the county fair.

Gordon was convicted of child sexual abuse in 1995.

According to the West Seneca Police Department, an officer stopped a Ford F-350 traveling west on Interstate 90 because the driver was not wearing a seat belt and had a cracked windshield.

The man was unable to provide any identification, only showing an amusement park ride operator ID with the name “James Davis” written on it. He also gave police a false date of birth, but after an investigation, police said they were able to identify the man.

According to police, Michael Wayne Gordon, 48, of Kokomo, Indiana, was wanted on two Level 1 felony counts of child sexual abuse and one Level 5 felony count of failing to register as a sex offender.

Gordon was convicted of child sexual abuse in Indiana in 1995 and again in 1999. In 2004, he was convicted of failing to register as a child molester.

WKBW-TV reported that court records show Gordon was facing new child sexual abuse charges in Indiana in 2021, but a warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to show up for a hearing.

Gordon drove children’s rides for Stratus Shows, but the company told WKBW that he was an independent driver and not an employee.
