‘Disgraceful’: Trump torches ‘very rude’ ABC News reporter at National Association of Black Journalists convention

Former President Donald Trump National Association of Black Journalists Conference Wednesday afternoon.

The interview with reporters started on a bad note, with one of the hosts quickly condemning Trump for past racist attacks.

“I was treated very rudely.”

“You use words like ‘animal’ and ‘violent’ to describe a black district attorney. You attack black journalists by calling them ‘losers’ and calling their questions ‘stupid and racist.’ You have dinner with white supremacists at the Mar-a-Lago resort. So my question is, as you urge black supporters to vote, why should black voters trust you after you use language like that?” Said ABC News correspondent Rachel Scott.

The former president slammed the reporter’s “nasty” questions and introductions, saying the moderator didn’t even greet him before jumping into the conversation.

“First of all, I don’t think I’ve ever been asked such a bad question. That’s the first question. He doesn’t even say, ‘Hello, how are you?'” Trump responded.

“Are you from ABC?” Trump asked the reporter, “Because I think they’re a fake news station. A terrible station.”

The former president’s response drew strong reactions from the audience.

“I feel ashamed that I came here feeling good,” Trump added.

At another point in the interview, Trump stopped Scott from interrupting him mid-response.

“I only have a limited amount of time with you, and I’d like to move on to another topic if possible,” she insisted.

Trump retorted: “No, excuse me. You kept me waiting 35 minutes, you know that.”

Later, Trump again lashed out at the reporter for the way he began the interview when another host asked him if he would consider resigning if he was no longer mentally capable of holding the presidency.

“What if I stood on a stage like this and was treated with the disrespect that this woman treated me with,” Trump said, pointing at Scott. “It’s so disrespectful. That’s awful. It wasn’t even a question. She didn’t ask me a question. She just made a statement.”

Scott asked Trump whether he thought Vice President Kamala Harris was a “DEI hire,” which stands for diversity, equity and inclusion.

Trump pressed the reporter to define DEI, but the reporter simply stated what the acronym meant and refused to provide a definition.

The reporter rephrased the question: “Do you think Vice President Kamala Harris is running only because she’s a black woman?”

“Well, maybe a little bit different,” Trump replied.

“She’s always been Indian. She’s just been advertising her Indian ancestry. I only found out she was black a few years ago when she became black. And now she wants to be known as black. So I don’t know if she’s Indian or black,” Trump questioned. “I respect both, but she clearly isn’t.”
