Donald Trump Jumps to Two-Point Lead in National Poll

Last week, RMG Research held its 2024 national race. Tied up Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris both have an approval rating of 49%, with Trump currently leading by two points. 49 to 47 percent.

The previous week, the same poll had Kamala leading Trump by five points. 47 to 42 percent.

Excluding the less-than-friendly demographic, Trump went from a five-point drop to a one-point increase — a six-point increase.

When low-approval voters are included, Trump went from a one-point drop to a two-point increase, for a total rise of three points.

“Donald Trump is leading Kamala Harris in the race for the White House, 46% to 45%. If you include his supporters, Trump leads 49% to 47% in the survey of 3,000 voters.” Reports The poll was sponsored by the Neapolitan News Service. “A week ago, the candidates were tied at 49 percent support among likely voters.”

These numbers suggest that Harris’ initial surge in popularity is over. But the core dynamics of the race remain unchanged: Love him or hate him, voters know what they think of Donald Trump. At this point, Kamala Harris is largely unknown, which means events like the upcoming Democratic Convention and presidential debates could have a bigger impact than usual.

As a result, the race for the White House remains very close, and anyone who says they know who will win is either lying to you or to themselves.

CacklyMcNeverBorderCzar just had the best three weeks of any presidential candidate in the last 20 years. Her record and policies are terrible, and she ran a great cultural campaign backed by billions of dollars of free in-kind donations from the corporate media. These were the best three weeks. Plus, Trump had a pretty rough three weeks. It’s not as terrible as the corporate media claims, but every time Trump starts tweeting rages in the middle of the night or gets upset over minor issues like crowd size, it’s a reminder of why many voters hate him more than inflation. And yet…

Cackly McNeverBorderCzar is losing ground in this larger poll of 3,000 voters, and the RealClearPolitics average of national polls has her just one point ahead of Trump. Single Point.

To avoid embarrassment, I won’t make predictions, but given the last three weeks, I would have expected Kamala to have an average lead of 3-5 points by now. The fact that it’s essentially a tie should worry Kamala more than it does Trump. Despite the worst of circumstances, he’s holding his own and maintaining better approval ratings than he did in 2016.

Also, Kamala won’t last. This forced joy is just that: forced. It’s childish, undignified, and the “white man taco” nonsense is false. Voters will eventually want to know what she plans to do, but so far two of her proposals — economy-crippling price controls and an inflation-boosting free $25,000 for first-time homebuyers — are unworkable.

There is still a chance that Trump will lose this election.
