A Trump supporter claimed he was blocked from entering the New York Mets stadium because he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, and condemned the act as “political discrimination.”
Orla Moody explanation To New York Post She and her friend Tayshia went through security wearing MAGA hats but were told they couldn’t enter the Mets’ stadium, known as Citi Field, where employees told the women their hats were “too political.”
After stadium staff told them hats were not permitted in bags, Moody and his friend were instructed to put the hats back in their cars.
“The United States is no longer a vehicle for freedom and tolerance,” Moody told the outlet. “I live under a communist regime where freedoms are trampled… that was the first thought that came to my mind.”
According to the outlet, Moody, who is an officer of the Queens Village Republican Club, and his friend arrived at the game separately from other members of the club.
The New York Republican noted that stadium officials “would have let” her in without issue if she had been wearing a hat supporting President Joe Biden or Black Lives Matter.
“We’re conservative people and we believe in tolerance,” Moody told the outlet. “If I had been wearing a BLM or Biden-Harris hat, they would have let me through.”
Moody added that after he put his MAGA hat back in his car, he realized “at least eight people” in the group were also wearing MAGA hats.
“When I walked in, I saw at least eight MAGA hats,” Moody told the outlet.
One of Moody’s friends defended her on Facebook. postPeople were asked if this was the “America” they wanted to live in.
This is my friend Orla. She is one of the teachers in New York City who was fired for refusing to get the COVID vaccine. On Wednesday night, she went to the New York Mets game at Citi Field with a group from the Queens Village Republican Club. After going through security, she was stopped by a Mets employee as she was trying to scan her ticket. She was told she couldn’t enter the stadium because she was wearing a red baseball cap that said “Make America Great Again.” We all know what that means. When Orla told the employee that her right to wear a hat was a First Amendment right, she was told to go back to her car and leave her hat there if she wanted to watch the game. Orla argued a bit, but her friends wanted to come and watch the game, so she went back to her car and left her hat there. She also told her boss and filed a complaint.
Honestly guys, I don’t care if you hate Donald Trump or not. It doesn’t matter!!! Is this the America you want to live in?

Moody described the incident as “political discrimination” and said he had tried to complain to stadium employees several times, the outlet reported.
According to the outlet, the Mets issued a statement saying that a Mets employee had “misunderstood” the stadium’s dress code and that they would “contact” Moody to apologize.
“A Mets employee had a misunderstanding regarding our dress code,” the team told the outlet. “We have contacted Orla Moody to offer an apology and invite her back to the ballpark.”
