Alongside the announcement, President Trump used the time to voice his concerns about Kamala Harris' radical policies.

“She promises communist price controls, wealth confiscation, energy extermination and reparations; the biggest tax increases in history; and mass amnesty and citizenship for tens of millions of immigrants that will consume trillions of dollars in federal benefits and destroy Social Security and Medicare,” he said.

Trump added that he may open up certain areas of federal land for housing construction to lower housing prices. He described the new areas as “low tax” and “low regulation,” but gave no details.

“We're going to open up the country to allow for the construction of affordable housing so young people and others can buy homes,” he continued.

President Trump also placed emphasis on energy as a way to reduce costs for ordinary Americans, setting forth a plan to “cut energy prices in half or more within 12 months of taking office.”
