DNC fly anti-Trump banners over college football games in key swing states as Harris slips in polls

The Democratic National Committee flew four planes carrying banners with anti-Trump messages at college football games in four key battleground states in Saturday's election. Announced.

The four stadiums where the banners will be displayed are Michigan Stadium at the University of Michigan, Sanford Stadium at the University of Georgia, Beaver Stadium at Penn State University and Camp Randall Stadium at the University of Wisconsin.

Photos on social media show the Democratic National Convention making good on its promise in Pennsylvania.

The planes flying over Michigan and Pennsylvania are trying to link Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance, to Project 2025, a far-right manifesto created by the Heritage Foundation. Trump has repeatedly rejected Project 2025 and said he would not implement its full list of policies if elected. But people who worked in Trump's first term have donated to the project.

One of the banners also aims to capitalize on one of college football's oldest rivalries. A plane flying over Michigan read, “J.D. Vance. [loves] Ohio State University [plus] “Project 2025.” Michigan State and Ohio State are said to have one of the fiercest rivalries in sports, and Vance claims to be a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan, having spent most of his childhood in Ohio and attended college at Ohio State.

Vance previously said that when Trump selected him as his running mate, he told him his loyalty to the Buckeyes could hurt his chances in Michigan this November.

“When I was first asked to be vice president, I thought, 'Oh man, I hope I don't lose Michigan by 900 votes, because I'm going to regret it. Because maybe it's just a thousand Wolverines fans that aren't going to vote for the Buckeyes. But I think the majority of Michiganders can put sports rivalries aside and put country first, because, obviously, that's what we all believe is most important.' The Democrats' latest campaign gimmick comes just three days before the first presidential debate between Trump and Harris, who has seen her support drop sharply in several polls in recent weeks, especially in key battleground states.

Recent Fox News statewide polls in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina show Harris leading by one point in Arizona and two points in Georgia and Nevada, while Trump has a one point lead in North Carolina — all within the margin of sampling error.

Trump is scheduled to attend a rally Saturday about two hours away in Mosinee, Wisconsin, where the Wisconsin Badgers will play South Dakota.

Meanwhile, Harris visited Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, about two hours from where the Penn State and Bowling Green University games are being held, where she welcomed the endorsements of former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Congresswoman Liz Cheney during a visit to a spice store called Penzey's Spice.

If Trump's approval ratings show favorable trends and the DNC's air campaign strategy doesn't work, Vance has suggested he and Trump travel to Ohio State University's Ohio Stadium to watch the Ohio State vs. Michigan game on November 30.

“Well, let's go see the Ohio State-Michigan game, if they win. As the vice president-elect, I'm sure I'll get some pretty good tickets and it'll be a celebratory mood,” Vance told Outkick. “It's going to be a big game this year. I think it's going to determine the final College Football Playoff standings, meaning whether or not both teams make the playoff. I haven't rated Michigan that highly this year, but they're always a good team, so who knows. So we'll see what happens. I'm really excited about the Buckeyes. I'm really excited about the Bengals.”
