As it stands, the Biden-Harris team is loath to hit Iran (or pressure Europe to do so) because they expect that if we are mean to Iran, it could escalate the Middle East crisis.
Moreover, Iran's new (powerless!) president is considered a moderate, and the Democratic brain trust fears that Massoud Pezeshkian will “weaken” him before he does anything to check the regime.
As if some of the other “moderates” who have taken over as puppets in the past 60 years have made any difference at all.
