The satirical magazine used the death of Corey Comperatore, a heroic former firefighter who died trying to save his family from bullets aimed at Kamala Harris' political opponents, as a punchline.
During the presidential debate, Harris said, “I would love for you to attend one of Donald Trump's rallies, because they're really interesting to watch.”
Harris suggested attendees would notice “people starting to leave his rallies earlier out of fatigue and boredom.”

“He was absolutely a hero. He saved his wife and his children. He was just the best guy,” said the victim's wife, Helen Comperatore.
Onion joke This act, at the expense of a fallen hero and his surviving family, may have resonated with the left privately but was widely mocked online.
