Shannon Watts slammed the lack of red flag laws in Florida following the attempted assassination of President Trump in the state that has red flag laws.
Florida enacted the red flag law in response to the Parkland High School shooting on February 14, 2018.
“Republicans in Congress have made it easy for a dangerous man with a lengthy criminal record to get an AK-47. The same profile, the same red flags, the same story is being told over and over again across America…” she tweeted.
Watts did not mention that Florida has Red Row, nor did he mention that California has Red Row, but California led the nation in “active shooter incidents” in both 2021 and 2023.
California also implements universal background checks and a ban on “assault weapons,” but CNN reported that in early 2024, the state saw four mass shootings in one week.
