15-year-old girl admits involvement in brutal assault death of disabled elderly man testified She says she and her friends got bored and killed him.
On October 17, 2023, five girls were arrested on suspicion of beating 64-year-old Reggie Brown to death in a Washington, D.C., alley.
“They then stomped on his head and some recorded the beating on their cell phones.”
Detective Harry Singleton said the fight was started by a man in his 20s, who attacked Mr Brown before the women arrived and asked if they could beat him too. They then stomped on his head, some recording the beating on their cellphones. The video was played in court during the trial against the girls.

A 12-year-old girl and two 13-year-old girls were arrested in March in connection with the incident, and two girls, ages 14 and 15, were also arrested in July. All were charged with second-degree murder.
The oldest suspect pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assault with a dangerous substance in exchange for cooperating with the investigation and accepting a three-year sentence in a juvenile detention center.
In her testimony, the 15-year-old said she suggested the group find someone to punch because she was bored. She said Brown's pants were removed during the beating, and police said Brown was hit with his own belt.
He also testified that he noticed the man was dead when he left the crime scene.
The medical examiner determined that Brown died from blunt force trauma to the head that caused a brain hemorrhage.
If convicted, the two girls on trial could be held in a juvenile facility until they turn 18, according to D.C. law. The trial judge announced that the second girl of the remaining two arrested had also pleaded guilty, but no other details were released.
One of Brown's relatives had previously called for justice for Brown.
“My uncle really didn't deserve this. He's been known in this area for years and for this to happen where he's lived for 64 years.” [years] It's insane. They must be held accountable! ” said the niece.
