Mike Williams practices with job security in question as Jets trade rumors swirl

In the latest wrinkle in Mike Williams' bizarre Jets week, the wideout hasn't practiced the past two days, but participated in individual practice Friday for the first time since the trade for star receiver Davante Adams.

Manager Jeff Ulbrich said Williams has participated fully in practice and is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Steelers.

The veteran missed Gang Green's practice entirely on Wednesday and only practiced on the side field Thursday during a portion of the session that was open to reporters.

The team's injury report listed Williams' absence as personal and not due to injury.

The next day, general manager Joe Douglas completed what appeared to be a year-long trade by acquiring Adams from the Raiders and reuniting the star wideout with former Packers teammate Rodgers.

Williams, who signed a one-year deal with the Jets in March, had a delayed start to training camp while recovering from a torn ACL and opened the regular season on a snap count, catching just 10 passes for 145 yards. It was a book.

Rodgers' expected role as No. 2 target behind Garrett Wilson turned out to be anything but.

And in the aftermath of the Adams trade, The Athletic reported that the Chargers, Steelers and Saints were among the teams that had “reached out” to the Jets about a possible trade for Williams.
