President Joe Biden welcomed President-elect Donald Trump back to the White House on Wednesday and congratulated him on his landslide victory.
President Trump's historic visit to the White House is his first since 2021 and serves as a visual contrast to his two-time political rival over the past five years.
“Now then, President-elect Donald and former President Donald, Congratulations” Biden said while shaking Trump’s hand.
President Trump responded, “Thank you.”

“As we've said, we look forward to a smooth transition,” Biden added. “We will do everything we can to make our customers feel comfortable.”
“We'll have a chance to talk about that today. Welcome back,” Biden said.
President Trump expressed his gratitude to Biden and spoke politely about the upcoming transition of power.
“Politics is tough. A lot of times it's not a very good world, but today it's a good world,” Trump said. “We're very grateful. It's been a very smooth transition and it couldn't have been smoother.”
“I'm very grateful,” he added.
“You’re welcome,” Biden said.
