President-elect Donald Trump's landslide victory on November 5 appears to have marked the end of an era for corporate reporting. And that's certainly something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
The election results revealed that the majority of voters were unfazed by the liberal media's relentless attacks on Trump and the Biden-Harris administration's relentless legislative efforts.
“We could all be fired in a year.”
Instead, America largely rejected the barrage of propaganda and negative press directed at Republican candidates, including outlandish comparisons to Adolf Hitler and dire warnings of fascism.
Despite having the most prominent news networks behind them, Democrats still failed in their mission to instill widespread fear in Americans about the possibility of a second Trump administration.
So while the lights may still be on for once-powerful media giants for now, Trump's landslide victory arguably marks the biggest decline in influence yet. In response to the election results, Elon Musk, who used to primarily vote for the Democratic Party and is now a Trump supporter, declared to the nation:You are now the media.”
It remains to be seen whether traditional media reporters will continue to talk about Trump as a bogeyman during his next term as president. While this scenario seems the most likely, at least for now, this holiday season will see these very out-of-touch networks assess their own failures and collectively strategize on how to salvage a sinking ship. It's a momentary respite from fear-mongering.
In the immediate aftermath of Trump's victory, reactions from corporate news outlets and far-left reporters have so far been strikingly diverse, with some trying to win back support from American audiences and others redoubling their hatred of Trump.
In response to the election results, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong of the Los Angeles Times announced plans to change the editorial board to reflect the sentiments of voters.
Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos made a similar move, vowing to hire more conservative editorial staff. The newspaper's senior political editor has reportedly been told he will soon be removed from his post.
Both newspapers faced significant backlash from their respective newsroom staffs during this election cycle after their owners refused to endorse presidential candidates.
There appears to be more internal turmoil at MSNBC. Elon Musk floated the idea of buying a network after Comcast announced It said it plans to spin off several cable channels, including MSNBC, CNBC and USA Network. The upcoming reorganization will require anchor Rachel Maddow's contract to be renegotiated by $5 million, and other staff members are reportedly concerned about their job security.
Last week, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said“In a year's time, we could all be laid off.”
His co-host and wife Mika Brzezinski replied, “Or tomorrow.”
Scarborough and Brzezinski's show 'Morning Joe' suffers steep decline Decline in audience ratings after two liberal co-hosts announced they had met with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago to “resume communication.”
While the two anchors give the impression they are trying to bridge the gap, other left-wing hosts, like Joy Reid and many on “The View” panel, have doubled down on their distaste for President Trump. Many people are wondering what led to President Trump's victory. They perceive a cloud of racism and sexism that clouds the judgment of most American voters.
On last week's podcast episode, Joe Rogan commented on the deterioration of liberal media's audience numbers.
logan said“I was just reading something about CNN ratings and MSNBC ratings after the election — they plummeted.”
“All these left-wing weirdos on YouTube are hemorrhaging subscribers. Everywhere people go, they say, 'You're out of line, you're not accurate, you're delusional,'” he said. added. “And people are talking about subscriptions, they're talking about buying the Washington Post, they're talking about buying the New York Times.”
This Thanksgiving, let us celebrate our nation through the veil of misleading and biased reporting and inspire hope among Americans that we can return to the values on which our nation was founded. And let's be thankful for what we are getting: a more independent media environment that is accountable to the people.
