Jason Miller: Notion Biden would pardon Trump 'a complete media manipulation'

Jason Miller, a senior adviser on the Trump-Vance transition team, on Monday night dismissed the idea that President Biden would pardon President-elect Trump as “complete media manipulation.”

Asked by Fox's Laura Ingraham whether Trump would accept a pardon from Biden, Miller insisted that Trump had done nothing to warrant such an action.

“At this point, I don't know what Joe Biden is going to do. If it's part of some PR strategy, I think it's nonsense for him to try to do it. But President Trump has done absolutely nothing wrong, and that's why it's all going to go away,'' Miller said on FOX News Channel's “The Ingraham Angle.''

When asked again, Miller said he did not want to speak for the president-elect, but suggested the public could see through “media manipulation.”

“I'm not going to put anything in the president's mouth. But we all know exactly what's going on. This is complete media manipulation by Joe Biden. And frankly… 'The American people don't want to hear what's on 'Morning Joe.''' Mika said. [Brzezinski]I have to say. They want to hear what's going to happen to secure their borders and grow their bank accounts,” Miller said.

Biden shocked the political world Sunday night, even though he repeatedly said he had no intention of granting a full pardon to his son, Hunter Biden. Some Democrats have criticized the move, viewing it as a political gift to Republicans who have long complained about the “weaponization” of the justice system.

A Delaware jury found Hunter Biden guilty of three felonies stemming from the president's son's purchase and possession of a revolver in 2018 while under the influence of drugs. He later pleaded guilty to nine tax charges in California to avoid a trial in a second case brought by special prosecutor David Weiss. Sentencing hearings in both cases are approximately two weeks away.

Hunter Biden asked the federal judge overseeing his criminal case to dismiss him after Sunday's pardon announcement.
