MSNBC host Joy Reid and her prime-time colleagues have faced significant ratings declines since the election.
According to Nielsen Media Research, “The ReidOut” lost 47% of its total viewers, averaging just 759,000 viewers in 2024, compared to an average of 1.4 million viewers through Election Day. He became a person.
Reed lost even more viewers among the advertiser-coveted 25-to-54 demographic, losing a whopping 52% of them and averaging only 76,000 viewers in the key demo.

Reid's MSNBC prime-time colleagues have also suffered devastating viewership declines over the past month. The network's prime-time lineup lost a whopping 53% of its total viewers (an average of 621,000 viewers) and an astonishing 61% of its key demo viewers (an average of 57,000 viewers).
MSNBC's biggest star, Rachel Maddow, which airs only on Mondays, averaged just 1.4 million viewers, down 43% from an average of 2.4 million total viewers leading up to the election. Her viewership decline among viewers in the key demo was steeper, losing 56% of her audience, averaging 103,000 viewers. Maddow is the only primetime host on MSNBC to maintain six-digit ratings in key demos.

“All In” host Chris Hayes also lost 56% of his key demo audience in the 8pm ET slot Tuesday through Friday, compared to an average of 166,000 viewers before the election. The number remained at 73,000. Hayes lost more than half of its total viewers, going from 1.5 million to just 728,000.
Hayes' replacement on Monday night, “Inside” host Jen Paschi, lost a whopping 61% of viewers in the key demo, averaging just 57,000 viewers. Biden's former press secretary also lost 53% of his audience, and now averages 710,000 total viewers.
MSNBC's Alex Wagner, who covers Mr. Maddow's 9 p.m. ET slot Tuesday through Friday, has also lost more than half of its total viewers, averaging just 660,000 viewers since the election, in the key demo. They lost nearly half of their population (an average of 72,000 people).
“The Last Word” host Lawrence O'Donnell also took a big hit with viewers, averaging just 930,000 viewers since the election and 78,000 in the key demo, down more than 40% in each metric. I lost it.

The future of the country remains uncertain. A network official previously told Fox News Digital that no one knows whether MSNBC will keep its name.
