This man has been given a second chance at life and is enjoying it very much.
A man whose heart stopped at McDonald's is celebrating his miraculous survival. There was also a good Samaritan who performed CPR on the victim. The two have become inseparable.
Paul Myers, 70, was lucky enough to have his guardian angel Brian Harris, 60, walking in front of the burger joint in York, England, when he died of a heart attack inside the store. It became.
Mr. Myers felt short of breath on the street and immediately ran to McDonald's for help around 9 a.m. on November 27, 2023.
It was by chance that Harris, who worked at a nearby station, ran into the shop for coffee afterwards.
“When I saw Paul, he was on the floor and it looked like he had hit his head,” Harris told the outlet.
In addition to chest compressions, Harris also used a defibrillator to stabilize Myers until an ambulance arrived.
“I fought hard. I wasn't going to give up. I was determined to fight for his life,” Harris recalled.
After Myers was discharged from the hospital (he had no recollection of what happened), the two began keeping in touch through social media.
Indeed, Myers said it was difficult to find what to say when they first met.
“The first time I met him, he arrived before me and said, 'Mr. Myers, I'm so glad to see you alive,'” the survivor recalled.
“All I could say to him was 'thank you.'”
Since that meeting, Harris said the two have become “lifelong friends.” They met several times over the past year and two weeks.
“He's obviously a loving person, and I'm forever grateful, but words can't express my feelings for him,” Myers added.
