Viral video shows bar patrons tossing chairs at man who allegedly threatened to kill workers with a knife

A video has gone viral online showing patrons at a bar jumping into action to help a staff member after he was attacked by a man armed with a knife and threatening to kill people.

kansas city police department said Just before midnight on Dec. 14, officers responded to a call at the popular pop-up bar and found patrons and employees using bar stools and other furniture to subdue a man.

“He was originally fired for allegedly biting a bar employee.”

The facility stated in a document: statement The man caused a disturbance and was removed, then returned to the bar armed with a knife and threatening to kill people. No one was seriously injured and police were able to arrest the man.

A video later appeared on social media showing several men throwing bar stools at a man at the bar. Their courage and resourcefulness were praised by many on social media. One video post collected It has been viewed over 3.5 million times.

The man, identified as 37-year-old Rustam Huseynov, initially said he was fired for allegedly biting a bar employee, according to court documents.

Mr. Huseynov faces numerous charges, including three felony counts of armed criminal action, one felony count of second-degree assault, and one felony count of first-degree terroristic threat. He was given bail of $75,000 and is being held at the Jackson County Detention Center.

“Going forward, we will be adding additional security guards and off-duty police officers to reinforce that the safety of our patrons and employees is our top priority,” the facility said in a statement.
