A Florida man has been arrested after police say he fired shots at two police officers in Kentucky.
Tombe Juma Kose Thomas, 35, was arrested on Dec. 28, according to Louisville police. fox 35 Reported. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder, has a preliminary hearing in Kentucky scheduled for Tuesday, and is being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections on $250,000 bail.
Louisville police were called to 1117 Reutinlinger Road, where Thomas was staying in an Airbnb with his girlfriend while visiting family.

Suspecting there was an intruder in his home, Thomas barricaded himself in the bathroom and accused his girlfriend of framing him.
When officers arrived, they knocked on the bathroom window and announced their presence.
Thomas then fired one shot into the window where the two officers were. The bullet passed over the heads of the officers, but no one was injured.
Thomas eventually left the house and was arrested.

He then said he fired a warning shot through the window.
According to Fox 35, Volusia County Schools in Florida has confirmed that Thomas is employed by the district as an instructor in Atlantic High School's Active Alternatives to Suspension Program. He previously served as a distinguished student education instructor at Deltona High School. He also coached football at both schools.

“This is an active investigation and additional details should be provided by law enforcement,” the district said in a statement. “VCS has also launched an internal professional standards investigation into this individual. Further action will be determined by the outcome of the investigation.”
Thomas is also a former fullback at Syracuse University.
