Democratic President Joe Biden took credit for reporting a drop in illegal immigration, but faced intense backlash on social media.
Posts about X are attributed to Biden. claimed “Illegal” border crossings have fallen by 60%. The Biden administration has been heavily criticized for lax border policies that have led to a historic surge in illegal immigration. Some blame concerns about illegal alien crime on the election results.

“As a result of the executive actions we have taken to secure our border, illegal border crossings have decreased by more than 60%, lower than they were in recent months under the previous administration,” Biden's statement read.
“Republicans in Congress wanted border politics. We fought to fix the border,” he added.
Many on social media viewed the statement as an attempt to rewrite history and glorify the Biden administration's failed policies.

“Biden waited until an election year to pay lip service to securing the border. The Biden era will forever be characterized by the worst border crisis in U.S. history. “He waited three and a half years to implement these policies, and he only did so reluctantly because of pressure from voters to do something about the border crisis.” said Free Beacon's Chuck Ross.
“We don't know which blue-haired lesbian intern is X-login in the White House today, but it's too late to ameliorate the legacy of the worst president in American history. Stop lying.” answered Pastor Ryan Visconti.
“No one is a historical revisionist enough to believe anything the president says about border security. The truth is that well over 9 million people have illegally crossed the southern border since February 2021.” answered Kent Strang of Americans for Prosperity.
President Trump has promised to introduce mass deportations to ease the illegal immigration crisis.
