Christians, Jews, and Muslims Partook in National Prayer Service with Trump

President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance and their spouses attended the National Prayer Service at the Washington National Cathedral on Tuesday, with Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders also participating in the event.

The president and first lady Melania Trump sat next to the vice president and first lady Usha Vance, and House Speaker Mike Johnson also sat next to them.

In some ways, the National Prayer Meeting served as a metaphor for the Trump campaign, as Christian, Jewish and Muslim religious leaders all participated. President Trump expanded his coalition this term to reach Christians, Jews and Muslims, and the results were clear in the demographic shifts in Michigan, a heavily Arab state.

There were readings from the Torah, the Bible, and the Koran, and an imam delivered the Islamic call to prayer.

“President Trump is currently sitting in the National Cathedral listening to the Muslim call to prayer as part of an interfaith gathering.” #Inauguration Ceremony service. If that’s not ecumenicalism and tolerance, I don’t know what is,” Breitbart News senior editor Joel Pollack wrote in a post about X.

At a news conference weeks before the election, a Muslim leader in Dearborn, Michigan, said Mr. Trump was closer to his interpretation of Christianity, Judaism and Islam than former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Imam Husham al-Hussaini told reporters at the time, “The reason I lean toward Trump is because I feel that Trump is close to the Bible, the Torah, and the Koran, and I support peace and non-war.'' Because I will.” “We should stop wars, whether in Europe or the Middle East. And I believe there will be equal justice for all of Ibrahim's children. [Abraham]”

“And third, I believe in morality, the divine logic in the Bible, Torah, and Koran, where God upholds normalcy and respect. I value marriage between a man and a woman. “That's why I believe we need a special president, a special leader,” he added.

The service included a wonderful performance by opera singer Christopher Macchio, who sang “Ave Maria,'' “How Great Art Too,'' and Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah.''

Although there were positive moments at the national prayer meeting, liberal anti-Trump Washington D.C. Bishop Marian Budde delivered a highly partisan sermon, calling on President Trump to have “mercy” toward LGBTQ children. .

“In the name of our God, have mercy on the people of our country who are scared right now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and Independent families. Some fear for their lives,” she said, adding a plea for mercy for illegal immigrants.

Budde called for President Trump's successor in June 2020, explained by washington post The “unapologetically liberal” actress in 2011 has faced a wave of criticism for her preaching.

“As a Catholic and a legal immigrant, it is outrageous that a woke bishop would lecture President Trump.” [sic] Regarding forced deportation of illegal immigrants. This is an insult to all of us who came to this country the right way,” Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), a legal immigrant from Colombia, said in a post on X.

Donald Trump Jr. reposted Moreno's tweet and agreed.

“This is exactly the case; immigrants who have actually struggled for years to come here legally, learn English, and assimilate into our culture understand English better than anyone else!” he wrote.
