Sen. Andy Kim (D-NJ) told NBC's “Mass the Press” on Sunday that the Trump administration's actions directed at USAID were “American hideouts.”
Kim said: When it comes to foreign policy, they have their pillars. There is defense, policy, and diplomacy. This is not charity. This is about our national security. In fact, when he was a senator, the exact line was Marco Rubio. There's a reason USAID is in the Ronald Reagan building, as Ronald Reagan was a strong supporter of this. ”
He said, “What we're looking at right now in the Trump administration last week is that Resta is clearly a US hideaway when it comes to very specific impacts, and that's going to be our national security.” The world is now for our own efforts. We do Chinese work for them. I hope that the American people realize how bad this can be. Something that affects the ability to build access in the market and grow the economy. So this has a very specific impact and will be our national security. ”
