Former national security adviser John Bolton said Wednesday that President Donald Trump “effectively surrendered” to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Host Kaitlan Collins said: You were there for their first meeting in Helsinki. What are your expectations for this? ”
“Well, I don't expect it anymore. I think I know exactly what's going to happen. President Trump effectively surrendered to Putin before negotiations began. Defense Secretary Hegses announced in Brussels. The position is sure I would be surprised if Trump didn't tell Putin directly on their phone, but it constitutes the terms of the settlement written in the Kremlin. Maybe they would be written in the Kremlin , came out on propaganda channels. But it is a complete reversal of the US and NATO positions on many issues. For example, to this day, the official position of the US has been the case that Ukraine has been able to achieve full sovereignty and territorial integrity. It was that it should be returned. The issue of NATO membership until 2008 was that Ukraine would eventually become a member of NATO, but that doesn't seem like that anymore. Putin today I recorded a series of victories.”
He added: “Putin doesn't want to negotiate with Zelensky. He wants to negotiate with Trump because he thinks he gets more from him and he's absolutely right.”
