Americans trust Trump on immigration, economy over environment, health care: Poll

Recent yougov investigation The vast majority of 52% of Americans have found a high level of trust in President Trump's ability to manage immigration. However, they are less likely to trust him on issues related to the environment and healthcare.

47% trust Trump in the economy, 45% trust him in foreign policy, and 43% trust him in foreign trade.

The survey shows a lack of trust in Trump in certain social issues. A significant portion of Americans have little or no trust in Trump on LGBTQ issues (51%), transgender issues (50%), environment (49%), and race relations (49%) yeah.

Polls reveal that strict partisan divisions over the president's handling of various issues divide trust.

A significant majority of Republicans have expressed high confidence in Trump across all 20 issues surveyed, particularly in the economy (87%), immigration (87%) and foreign policy (84%). However, these numbers have been down slightly since November 2024.

Republicans expressed the minimum amount of trust in LGBTQ issues (19% don't have confidence) and transgender issues, with 15% expressing their lack of trust in the president.

Democrats have overwhelmingly expressed a lack of complete confidence in Trump across all issues, particularly in their ability to manage race relations (84%) and LGBTQ issues (81%).

During his first week of last month, Trump took some Immigration-related stepsincluding increased new border policies and enforcement.

An important aspect of these actions is that he is committed to dealing with illegal immigration, but many actions affect the established legal immigration process.

Trump has also issued numerous energy policies that dismantled environmental protection measures.

This pleased both his supporters and the fossil fuel sector. Mike Somers, CEO of the American Petroleum Research Institute, praised the action and said it would encourage oil and gas production. However, environmentalists expressed concern and argued that the policy would damage the environment.

The YouGov survey of 1,132 respondents, photographed between January 4 and 28, has an error of either positive or negative 4 percentage points.
