Two Texas-born girls were arrested Wednesday for planning to shoot and bomb Houston High School in a “mass casualty attack,” according to the local government and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The two girls, ages 15 and 16, were arrested in an operation organized by the FBI, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, and the Spring Branch ISD Police Department. According to Click 2 Houston.
Memorial High School in Houston, Texas was targeted by two minor masterminds. He had planned to place pipe bombs around the school and use his guns to pick up students and teachers who were panicking.
The 16-year-old girl is a student at Memorial High and was arrested in the hallways of the school. She is accused of creating a threat of terrorism, a three-degree felony, according to the Spring Branch ISD Police Department.
The 15-year-old girl attends Willis High School and has not yet been charged with the threat, but she is being held on unrelated charges, according to the sheriff's office.
Authorities said the two young coeducationals were in the first stages of planning the attack.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said there was no current threat to the community, reassured that he was worried about Houston residents.
“We understand the concerns that this situation may raise for students, parents and faculty, and take all necessary precautions. Additional security measures are in place and we are safe. We continue to work closely with school officials and law enforcement partners to ensure the environment,” the Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
