Woman accused of looting Palisades Fire area wearing “Palisades Strong” shirt

The woman was arrested and wore a T-shirt recording a sarcastic statement after police accused her of looting her home in the Palisade fire area.

The Southern Division of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) shared images in the recent X of Karen Massey's arrest.

On February 21, officers were called to a residence in Pallisard, Pacific, for a loot report. When the officers arrived, they did not find Massy as she had already fled the scene, but the victim was able to explain Massy's car.

Officers were able to track her down at her home and found some stolen bone ant items.

Authorities said Massey was arrested and faced a massive theft charge.

Chris Margaris, chief of CHP Southern Division, said his officers are “continuing to be actively involved in the recovery efforts of the Pacific Palisade community.”

“I am extremely proud that our officers are proud of our prompt action to protect our people and prevent further harm,” Margaris said in a statement from X. CHP. ”

Since the Palisade fire broke out on January 7th, police have arrested dozens of people in connection with looting.

Los Angeles County DA has nine people charged with plundering, one with arson.

The Santa Monica Police Department previously announced it had made 39 arrests in the evacuation zone, but none of the suspects were community residents.

The Los Angeles Police Department has made 34 arrests since the start of the fire, and those who have not been charged with attempted robbery were picked up for curfew violations, drug possession, warrants and probation violations.

“In the Pallisard area we experienced in Los Angeles and the fires we experienced, it's not bad enough that there are 40,000 people who may have evacuated this area. To sacrifice them. Activities,” Los Angeles Police Chief Blake Chow said in a previous statement. “It's not enough that they have to worry about their property, their reconstruction, or anything like that.”

Authorities have been restricting access to the area as residents attempt to begin the reconstruction process as they cleared toxic debris and destroyed or destroyed more than 10,000 structures in the Palisard region of the Pacific.
