Trump Sent a Message U.S. Will Not ‘Be Taken Advantage of’

Interviewed Saturday Breitbart NewsSen. Jim Banks (R-IN) commented on the events unfolding in an oval office on Friday at a meeting between Ukrainian President Voldymee Zelensky and President Donald Trump, noting that Trump sent a message that the United States “does not have a favor.”

The bank explained the meeting. That ended with Zelensky being kicked out of the White House after making some rude comments and not signing a mineral trade. During the interview, Banks praised Trump for talking about “the president of the people,” saying “for America,” and “Americans tired of being used by other parts of the world.”

“I thought it was one of the most powerful moments of my life in American politics. And it just shows what a strong American president looks like in the White House. This conversation – what happened yesterday in the oval office has come for a long time. Zelensky has been used to coming to Washington over the past four years and meeting with a very weak president. Zelensky's excessive heroic worship with the establishment of Washington is when it comes to its place, and that's what Donald Trump did yesterday,” Banks said.

“Zelensky symbolized me not only in America, but also in America, but in his outfit that he disregarded America. Whether he was on the floor of the house or not when he spoke before a congressional joint session where I refused to go but later refused to come to the oval office,” Banks added.

“Donald Trump was the people's president, and yesterday was a powerful moment he spoke for America, and for Americans tired of being used by other parts of the world. As President Trump pointed out, there was almost $200 billion in the beginning of the war that American taxpayers invested in Ukraine, and a lot of money that went ahead. And to thank Zelensky for our true US President and Donald Trump, I just thought it was one of the most powerful moments of my life.”

After host Matthew Boyle pointed out that the Trump administration gave Ukrainians “multiple opportunities” to sign a mineral trade prior to the “appearance of an oval office” with Trump, Banks noted that it is powerful to tell Trump not to return until he leaves to Zelensky and becomes serious about peace.

“For Zelensky, in the oval office in front of the camera, when Ukraine did more than that role to help Ukraine, and that's when it's when it's for me that it's more than that role to me. Zelensky, he's not serious about peace, and I also thought it was strong. President Trump says, “I'll come back until I take peace seriously, and I won't come back until I come back.” So when you changed your tone and when you got serious about all of this, there was an invitation from President Trump to come back. ”

“The most important thing to unleash from all this is not the message President Trump sent to Ukraine, but the message he sent to other parts of the world yesterday. That America will not be in favour of anyone, this is not about Russia or Ukraine. It is about America, it is about America, it is about America's biggest concern. We don't intervene in foreign countries around the world. America will play its part, but it is America's greatest interest. And I thought it was a powerful message sent yesterday to the rest of the world.
