Netanyahu Cuts Off Aid to Gaza After Hamas Reportedly Rejects Trump Ceasefire

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that Israel will halt all movement of goods to Gaza after Hamas clearly rejected the ceasefire proposal proposed by President Donald Trump's envoy.

As Breitbart News reported on Saturday, “Israel accepted a new proposal by the Trump administration on Saturday night, under which all 63 hostages will be released on the way to a permanent ceasefire in the course of the Islamic Holy Month of Ramadan.”

At the time, it was not clear that Hamas' response was to the proposal.

In a statement of Israeli time on Sunday morning, Netanyahu's office said (translated from Hebrew via government news offices):

With Hamas' refusal to accept Witkov's framework for the continuation of the first phase of the hostage trade and Witkov's framework for the continued Israeli agreed to, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided this morning that all goods and supplies to the Gaza Strip would be suspended.

Israel will not allow a ceasefire without releasing hostages. If Hamas continues to reject it, additional consequences will occur.

Trump says Israel has free hands to respond to Hamas. He expressed shock at Hamas' treatment of Israeli hostages; invitation Some of the hostages released to visit him at the White House.

Of the remaining 63 hostages, 24 are believed to be alive.

Many Israelis have long opposed the idea of allowing humanitarian assistance to Gaza while Hamas still holds Israeli hostages.
