State Rep. Braxton Mitchell (R) urges House Bill 809 to block further local attempts to adopt red flags laws in Montana.
KTVQ It has been reported Mitchell is interested in the due process issues related to the Red Flag Act, and views the court's order as a preemptive strike against a law that allows unconvicted Americans to act as a forfeiture.
Mitchell said: If someone is truly dangerous, they will not be disarmed through judicial tyranny. ”

Liberty Park Press (LPP) pointed To all for gun safety, “A multi-stage study found that one suicide was avoided over the age of 17. [red flag court orders] issued…”.
The LPP suggests that “one of the 17 cases in which red flag restrictions were used led to 16 cases in which the law failed, possibly disarming many people.”
California adopted the Red Flag Act in 2014, making it the first state in its union to do so. The law came into effect in 2016, but California led the country with “active shooter incidents” in both 2021 and 2023.
