“The View” co-host Joy Behar said Thursday that despite his dislike of his voice towards the president, he can become friends with Trump supporters.
“I've been friends with Trump supporters. I don't give them kidneys, but I've been able to be friends with them,” Behar said. “The thing about it is, it's about politics, it's about morality, ethics, it's about cruelty, discrimination, and it's about a lot of things, so they're personal human values.”
“We're not just talking about fiscal conservatives, we're just paying more taxes. We're talking about you, so it's hard to be friends with people who sign something like that. On the other hand, they're open to discussions.
The co-host of “The View” discussed the scene from HBO's “The White Lotus.” The scene hinted at the fact that one character, Kate, played by Leslie Bibb, voted for President Donald Trump. Other characters played by Carrie Coon, Jaclyn, played by Laurie and Michelle Monaghan, pushed her in to acknowledge the way she voted for, and conveyed it with her expression.

Co-host Alyssa Farrr Griffin, who worked for Trump in her first term, voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris in the last election, explaining the political composition of her own group of friends.
“My friends are very equally divided. My best friends are Democrats, but our in-person group have people who voted for Trump. If you know people at the heart of them, you know their values, you know why they decided, you respect them, you can coexist with them, you can support those you didn't,” she said.
Sunny Hostin said it would be difficult for her to agree with Behar and make friends with those who “harm” their family, community and senior members.
Co-host Sarah Haynes said in the discussion that it is common for people to know and be friends with people who vote differently.
“I went from conservative life in the Midwest to super-free East Coast life. And when you mentioned joy, that everyone can vote for it, when you enter their bubble and see the reporting they see and their families and churches, they're not voting for this terrible person you see here. “If I love the people who voted for him and share the values of me that love them, that part is more important to me.”

In “The White Lotus,” Laurie asks Kate completely if he voted for Trump. She responds with a smile and a long pause before saying, “Are you really going to talk about Trump tonight?”
Kate claimed she was independent, but at dinner she admitted that her husband, Dave, is a Republican.
Admission occurs after religion was raised during dinner, and Kate explains that she and her husband go to church every Sunday. When asked if it got troubling when discussing politics, Kate seemed unaware why it was, but her friends were operating under the assumption that she was a Democrat.
