Despite debacle of appointing trans-identifying man on OnlyFans, city councilwoman bemoans white guy replacement

The Seattle-area city council has been the subject of state criticism for appointing a trans-identifying man with only fan accounts to fill the vacant seats, but councillors now lament that another white man has been chosen to replace him.

Earlier this month, Lynwood City Council voted unanimously to appoint Jessica Anroberts, a man who pretended to be a woman, to fill the vacant seat by Vice President Julieta Altamilano Crosby in January. Within hours of the announcement of Roberts' appointment, the Lynnwood Times reported that Roberts was likely the individual behind the reddit users who shared their own explicit content in the sole location only on amateur porn sites and regularly posted about “strange and dark” sexual fetishes, including popularity.

Within days, the council had planned a special meeting to reconsider Roberts' appointment, but Roberts preempted the decision by withdrawing it from consideration.

The council was then tasked with finding yet another alternative, reaching out to candidates who had previously thrown hats in the ring, including Robert Reutwiller, who finished second when Roberts was selected.

“This decision does not reflect the individual's desire for appointments, but rather a deep disappointment in the lack of processes and expressions that truly reflect our diverse communities.”

On Wednesday, the council officially announced that Leutweiler had been chosen to fill the vacant seats, but Delica Escamilla, the lonely woman on the council, is not happy yet. In her public remarks, she showed that her “conscience” would not allow her to vote for candidates whose unchanging traits do not reflect the so-called “diversity” of Lynnwood.

“Our city is made up of people from all backgrounds, with over half of the women, white, Asian, 19%, Hispanic or Latinx, 14%, Black or African American, 8%, two or more races, 5.7%, and 11.3% in two or more races, Native American, Pacific Islands, or Native Hawaiian. “Based on these demographics, it's important that our governing body reflects its diversity and ensures that all voices are heard.”

Escamilla “said not only defending “diverse” candidates for diversity, but argued that it criticized the “process” of somehow restraining or discouraging racial minorities from participating.

“The appointment process should encourage broader participation and expression, including those that do not appear in this table. This table should facilitate the process of providing input by the community when something unexpected happens. Unfortunately, this process did not lead to that outcome,” she continued.

Escamilla ultimately chose to refrain from voting, but all other members voted for Reutweiler's approval.

“This decision does not reflect the individual's desire for appointments, but rather the deep disappointment in the process and the lack of expression that truly reflects our diverse community,” Escamilla reiterated. She also said she would maintain her “professionalism” and work with the rest of the Council despite her fears.

On all accounts, the council should have probably gone with Leutweiler first. Not only is Leutwyler a veteran in the US military, but he also works as a program manager for Amazon, a service he praised by Escamilla.

Washington state journalist Jonathan Cho has extensive coverage of Jessica Roberts' fiasco in X, and has replied with Roitweiler as “common sense” Optional.

As Roberts also appears to be a white man, Escamilla looks like Roberts is also a white man, but the only “diversity” he appears to have provided council was cosplay as a woman. Apparently, to show that point, he was wearing a manicure that was crossed in an interview with his council in February.

Escamilla is not the only councillor Expressed ambivalence About the “process” that led to the appointment of Leutwyler.

“I have my own personal opinions and dissatisfaction about the process and how it happened, but I aim to go in this direction.

Council member George Hurst described Leutweiler as a “good, viable candidate,” but also lamented the “long process.” “I don't want to take council time anymore on the issue of this appointment,” he added.

According to a Wednesday press release from the council, Leutwyler is scheduled to be sworn on Monday.

Tonight, the city council appointed Robert Reutweiler to Lynwood City Council. The resignation of councillor Julieta Altamilano Crosby left his position No. 5 vacant in January this year.

During the business meeting on March 24, 2025, he will take the oath of office and will be seated soon.

The city will provide a formal announcement early next week, including a biography and quotation from the councillors.

City Council meetings in February can be seen below by all candidates, including Roberts and Robertourer interviewed. Leutwyler appears around the 43:23 mark and Roberts around 01:03:45.
