Fighting influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate returned to Romanian police stations on Monday to comply with a court-ordered order to present themselves to authorities as they face a string of legal battles across multiple countries.
As the brothers face trafficking charges to form criminal gangs to sexually exploit women, they are required to check in with authorities to maintain compliance with judicial management requirements.
“I'm a free man who hasn't been found guilty of anything,” Andrew Tate told reporters outside the Volunteer Police Department.
Andrew Tate, brother Tristan, complained that American women were allegedly trafficking people abroad.

The brothers were charged last year after being arrested in Romania in 2022. Prosecutors allege that Tates, a dual US and British citizen, had been involved in a crime ring that seduces women into Romania for sexual exploitation. Former MMA fighter and self-explained misogynist Andrew Tate was also charged with rape.
The man vehemently denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty.
After the court ruled that the case would not go to trial, Tates remains under judicial control. However, provisions required by courts must be displayed regularly before the authorities.

Check-in on Monday comes two days after the brothers return to Romania on a private flight from the US. The pair arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida last month.
Their arrival met a cold shoulder from the administration of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Attorney General James Usmierer has vowed to begin a “preliminary investigation” with the brothers and begin an investigation of Andrew and Tristan Tate on March 4th.
“Florida has zero resistance to human trafficking and violence against women,” Usmeyer said in a statement posted on social media. “If any of these suspicious crimes cause a Florida jurisdiction, we will hold them accountable.”

The Romanian court's decision to ban his brother's case from being brought to justice was a major blow to DIICOT, the country's anti-organized crime agency that filed a second lawsuit against Tates last August.
The claims include claims in human trafficking, money laundering, trafficking of minors, sexual intercourse with minors, and statements of impact. The brothers also denied any additional charges.

The pair's legal suffering is not only limited to Romania, but four British women filed civil suits in the UK after the UK's Crown Prosecutor's Office chose not to file criminal charges.
Tates is also facing extradition to the UK following the conclusion of Romanian legal proceedings after authorities issued an arrest warrant for alleged sexual assaults between 2012 and 2025.

“It doesn't matter what you're blaming. It's important that what you did in a fair courtroom has committed a crime,” Andrew Tate said Monday. “Accusations don't mean anything. The number of times you repeat the charges in the news doesn't matter. That's trash.”
