Trump Admin Ends Taxpayer-Funded Housing Programs for Illegals

President Donald Trump's administration has eliminated taxpayer-funded housing program benefits to illegal foreigners.

This week, Scott Turner, Executive Director of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and Christy Noem, Director of Homeland Security (DHS), published a memorandum of understanding “The American Housing Program for American Citizens” that prevents taxpayer money from supporting illegal foreigners.

“For the benefit of American citizens, American taxes should be used for the benefit of American citizens, especially on issues as pressing as our country's housing crisis,” Turner said in a statement.

The new agreement leverages resources, including technology and personnel, to ensure that Americans are their sole priority when it comes to public housing. We will continue to work closely with DHS to maximize resources and make the most of our American citizens. [Emphasis added]

With this agreement, HUD and DHS will ensure that housing program money will work on partnerships to prevent it from being used to benefit illegal foreigners. Similarly, Turner prohibits HUD-funded service providers from giving financial support to illegal aliens.

A 2023 survey by the Center for Immigration Research found that almost 60% of households led by illegal aliens belong to at least one major taxpayer-funded welfare, compared to 39% of households led by Americans living in the country.

In particular, almost half of households led by illegal aliens in the United States use food stamps, while 39% of such households use Medicaid.
