Trump Slams Judge Over Deportation Flight Case: ‘A Disgrace!’

Trump on deportation flight judge getting Signal chat case: ‘Disgraceful’

President Trump intensified his criticism of US District Judge James Boasberg on Thursday, labeling him “stigma” after the judge was selected to manage a lawsuit involving a signal group conversation where he purportedly leaked a military plan to senior Atlantic editors.

Boasberg has recently addressed the execution of the 1798 Alien Enemy Act, utilizing it to deport Venezuelan immigrants.

“How disgraceful is James Boasberg that it’s statistically improbable to witness a ‘judge’ being assigned the fourth ‘Trump case’,” Trump stated. I noted this earlier on Thursday in a message on True Society.

Currently, Boasberg is supervising four lawsuits against the Second Trump administration following the inclusion of signal-related suits against prominent Trump officials.

A federal judge was sued on Wednesday after a complaint was lodged by the US oversight of the government’s Watchdog Group. In its filing, the group asserts that Trump officials have breached their federal records law (FRA) responsibilities to erase signal messages regarding recent attacks on the Hauti rebels in Yemen.

This information comes after Prime Minister Jeffrey Goldberg’s Atlantic editor was unintentionally included in a text thread that contained attack plans detailing the timing, location, and weaponry involved.

The FRA was updated in 2021, stipulating that electronic messages from agency leaders must be preserved as records. National security adviser Mike Waltz initiated the removal of the group’s messages a week later, as reported by four individuals from Goldberg.

Among those in the chats, including Waltz, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of Defense Tarsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence acknowledged “errors,” but refrained from offering apologies. Trump also dismissed the infraction.

As Boasberg took on the case, the president launched further assaults on the judge following calls for criticism a few days earlier. The judge has also expressed disapproval of Trump.

The back-and-forth began after Boasberg issued a decision to prevent expedient deportations under 18th-century law. Despite ongoing discussions, the judge ordered a halt, but it proved ineffective.

White House officials contended that the aircraft had already departed and was out of US airspace, thus the judge had no authority to intervene or question it. Nevertheless, Boasberg challenged the administration regarding logistical particulars.

In a Thursday post, the president asserted that it is improbable for Republicans to initiate a lawsuit under Boasberg, who was appointed by former President Obama.

“It seems Boasberg, the Supreme Court justice of the DC District Court, has taken all of the ‘Trump cases’ upon himself, despite it not being supposed to occur that way,” he wrote. “Is there still some type of ‘wheel’ to ensure judges are appointed fairly and randomly?”

Boasberg was randomly assigned to each of the four Trump-connected cases.

Trump remarked that the “positive aspect” is that it is “practically impossible” for him to receive an “honest ruling” in Washington.

“The judiciary in our nation is flawed, with New York and DC being among the most prominent in their corruption and extremism,” he asserted.

He called for an “immediate investigation” into what he termed the “rigged” system.
