Gatting social security Not “efficient” – it’s a broken promise. Democrats and Republicans should get up and fight back to protect it.
Social security is not charity. Americans pay, pay after pay, pay hard for their lives. As they get older, they get that money back to help them retire. It is an iron-covered take-out promise that America makes to workers.
But for now, Social Security is under attack like never before. Billionaire Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick I said Seniors don’t complain if they miss a Social Security check. Elon Musk Called Social Security “The World’s Largest Ponzi Scheme.” Musk then sent the government’s Office of Efficiency (DOGE) to break the agency by indiscriminately firing workers, closing offices, and attempting to cut down telephone services.

What does it mean to cut down staff and service without rhymes or reason? Two things are more mistakes when providing checks to Americans and fewer workers to correct those mistakes. And when people don’t receive the check, it’s a reduction in the profits they’ve earned.
The mistake has already manifested. After Doge gained social security, NedWashington state retirees were marked “dead” in the social security system despite being very alive. He had a $5,000 benefit (paid while he is “dead”) that was quickly snatched from his bank account, and his monthly checks were stopped. Ned spent weeks trying to correct his mistake, but has not been paid back due to a lack of checks for two months.
Or take Tom and Chris from Westborough, Massachusetts, where his son has autism. For years, social security disability benefits have helped him pay for his care. And for years, these benefits have arrived on time. However, when they recently checked their son’s Social Security account, his profits had ended. No explanation – stopped. The money was eventually passed, but it caused them to panic over how they paid their bills.
And while people are not checked, there are few Social Security officials who can help solve the problem. Cutting down staff and closing local offices means Americans will be forced to drive time to apply and seek help with benefits. Once they reach the office, the line can exit the door. They wait hours until they can get help – if they get help at all.
Who is Trump’s choice to oversee Social Security?
Elon Musk and Doge allegedly hacking people’s social security is cutting “extreme levels of fraud” and tens of millions of deaths over the age of 100 are being paid. But even Leland Dudek, the current Social Security Deputy Administrator, was set up by Donald Trump in February – Contradiction That claim.
Here’s the problem. If Elon Musk and Doge really want to reduce waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government, there’s an easy way to do that. But don’t take that from me. President George W. Bush’s Social Security Director General I said If Elon Musk and Doji want to make changes to make the agency more efficient, they can say, “But the 22-year-old flat boys who have never thought the system was a good idea, a good idea, and that’s a mistake.”

We should not cut social security services and threaten the interests of Americans. The program should be stronger. People struggle with empty prices while retirement savings are evaporating. Social security is not something we can separate from our good hearts. This is something Americans earned in their once-in-a-lifetime effort. Now, Donald Trump, Musk and Dozi are trying to skip that deal, calling it “efficient.” But it’s not efficiency – it’s a broken promise for the American people, and Democrats and Republicans should get up and fight back.
