A Tennessee woman has been accused of killing a former local television news anchor, legal documents say.
On Friday, 55-year-old Angelia Solomon of Franklin was arrested and charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder against her ex-husband, Franklin police said.
“He deserves the worst… he deserves the death penalty, he deserves the chair.”
Solomon remains behind the bar with $500,000 bonds.
Police say Solomon was trying to hire a hitman to kill her ex-husband, former WSMV-TV morning anchor Aaron Solomon.
On April 11th, around 2:15pm, Angelia Solomon met a secret law enforcement officer pretending to be a hitman in the parking lot at Cool Springs Mall. People Magazine.
Angelia was trying to coordinate the murderer’s murder plot, the affidavit said, and she allegedly told undercover investigators she wanted her ex-husband to “disappear and be placed underground.”
Angelia provided undercover agents with information about how Aaron would be placed, including where he was hired and the address of his home, the affidavit states.
According to the affidavit, she has registered her vehicle with her as collateral, and has promised “future payments” for the murder-hiring conspiracy.
Angelia reportedly told undercover police officers that Aaron’s death would provide the couple’s daughter with access to the trust fund.
Angelia is said to have been harboring trauma to her ex-husband since her teenage son passed away.
On July 20, 2020, Aaron and his son, Grant Solomon, were in a sports facility where they took part in private pitching lessons.
Grant Solomon, a high school senior and talented baseball player at Franklin’s Grace Christian Academy, was reportedly hit by his car in the parking lot of a baseball training facility.
Aaron Solomon was in another vehicle in the car park and was allegedly called 911 when his son was hit by a Toyota pickup truck.
“I looked down to check my work emails, and the next thing I know, I hear the truck lying behind me in the ditch, and I watched. I got out of the car and tried to find my son, and saw him locked up under the truck and immediately called 911,” Aaron told police. Daily Mail.
Grant Solomon was declared dead soon, and his death was later determined to be an accident, and the incident was shut down.
However, Angelia Solomon believes her ex-husband is involved in the death of her son.

“It makes very reasonable for him to be responsible for my brother’s death by witnessing how he treated my brother,” Gracie told host Ashley Banfield.
Daily Mail Angelia reported in a 2023 interview that she had “hellish rage” against Aaron, and that he “not deserved to be on this planet.”
Angelia was asked what proper justice is for her ex-husband, and reportedly said, “He will be gone. Gracie wants him to be locked up and he doesn’t want to walk freely, but in order to feel completely protected, peaceful and free… he will have to go without him.”
Angelia said, “He deserves the worst… he deserves the death penalty, he deserves the chair. What he did to both my children, he doesn’t deserve to be on this earth. I think God has my back. He is a danger to society.”
