Embattled Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson Blames Ex-Mayor Rahm Emanuel for Trump’s Rise

Chicago Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson, who fought, has condemned Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory over former Obama Associate and former Windy City mayor Rahm Emmanuel, accusing him of committing “terrorism” in Chicago.

Johnson, 6.6% He is receiving the worst recognition rating in the country, told reporters Tuesday that he is “incredibly plagued” by Rahm Emmanuel’s “temerity” in recent critical comments about the Democratic mistake. wttw-tv.

“The playbook run by Donald Trump is a playbook that Rahm Emmanuel ran in the city,” Johnson told reporters. “We happened to have a tyrant in the White House so we didn’t go here. Someone gave him a script so he got here. And the closure of schools, the layoffs of black women, the privatization of the public education system are the reasons why the system is jacked as it is today.”

Johnson also accused Emmanuel of committing “a act of terror” in Chicago.

“Our challenge in Chicago didn’t start with Donald Trump,” Johnson exploded. “One of the acts of terror that has been governed so far by the administration has been the Emmanuel administration.”

Emmanuel has been criticizing the Democrats for a while. In March, for example, Emmanuel denounced the Democrats for being unwieldy in the face of disasters, advised that leaders would continue to focus on events rather than “rules.”

He told Bill Merhell, “The Democrats should look at it — and we’ll be honest like we did in 1994 by reforming the government. Everything is on the table, nothing is safe.

He also argued that American cities are falling into a “disaster” about crimes Democrats refuse to deal with.

But Emmanuel’s centralistic comments don’t sit well with the current mayor of Chicago. Johnson attacked Emmanuel and accused him of hurting minority children.

“The Emmanuel administration had a huge sloppy towards public education, especially for black people, brown and poor children. He was speaking out about it,” Johnson argued. “And now he’s ramming around this country and asking people to rethink him. It’s not just frustrating. It’s beyond attack.”

Emmanuel has not announced any new political aspirations, but many hope that Emmanuel will run for the US Senate after Illinois Senator Dick Durbin announced he is not running for reelection on Wednesday. But others want him run For the President.
