Two U.S. Coast Guard cutters seized more than a dozen suspected illegal immigrants off the coast of San Diego on Wednesday.
According to a news release from the Coast Guard, before 4:30am, the crew on one of the cutters intercepted a 20-foot cabin-style ship carrying 15 illegal immigrants about 10 miles northwest of Point Roma.
According to the release, the boat has 11 adult men and four adult women, all claiming Mexican nationality.
All 15 illegal immigrants were taken into custody by the Coast Guard and handed over to US Border Patrol personnel.

“We experience them every day, but our first goal is to keep Americans safe from criminals walking through this country that should never have been let go in the first place.”
