Governor Tim Waltz (D-MN) remarked on Wednesday during an MSNBC briefing that he would soon don military attire as President Donald Trump appears to be steering the U.S. toward authoritarianism.
Host Jen Psaki questioned him, referencing something he mentioned in a New Yorker piece from March. She said, “We discussed needing to prepare for the worst-case scenario, and I think many of us share that sentiment.”
Waltz responded, “Yes, I believe the situation is worsening. I’m not claiming to be pessimistic or overly cautious. I intend to prevail. The Constitution remains strong, so we will succeed. We are still observing the courts amid this pressure, even as we face threats from those in authority.”
