Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his willingness to meet with Vladimir Putin for discussions in Istanbul this Thursday. This comes after US President Donald Trump urged him to accept the proposal for talks with Russia without delay.
Zelensky noted in a post on X that he anticipates a comprehensive ceasefire starting Monday, which he believes is essential for diplomatic efforts to conclude the ongoing conflict.
We are waiting for a complete and lasting ceasefire that begins tomorrow to provide the necessary basis for diplomacy. There is no point in extending the killing. And I’m waiting for Putin at Türkiye on Thursday. Personally. I hope that the Russians aren’t looking for this time…
