A father of five from Florida recently caught his social media followers off guard by sharing his experience at Disney World in Orlando. His video went viral on X, racking up over 8 million views. The costs for Disney parks have significantly increased in recent years; for instance, Disneyland in California raised entry-level ticket prices by 6.5% last year.
“This cost a family of five a day at Disney,” he explained before detailing his total expenses, which reached $1,391.91 for a day at Florida’s top attractions.
The father noted that parking alone cost $30, and then he spent a staggering $974 on tickets for his family, which included one child under 10.
He chose to forgo the “Lightning Lane” pass, priced at $35 per person, as they could only skip lines on three rides, and he didn’t think it was worth the cost.
The most significant drain on his finances, he remarked, came from food.
The family spent $29.50 on an ice cream bar and a bottle of water, followed by $19 for pretzels and a beer. Lunch racked up another $44.35 for pizza and a small drink. A visit to the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge area added another $53 for themed snacks, bringing their total for food alone to $101.29.
Costs only escalated after they left the ride, deciding to head to Disney Springs for dinner.
“This place felt like my personal hell. It was packed in every store and restaurant,” he stated.
They ended up dining at Frontera Cocina Mexican Restaurant, which came to $245.27.
Many followers expressed that these prices were “ridiculous,” especially in Florida.
Reportedly, nearly 50% of Disney visitors are accumulating debt to afford trips to the parks.
