Discussion on California Politics and Taxes
During a live broadcast on HBO on Friday, host Bill Maher shared his thoughts on California’s economic landscape, suggesting that he doesn’t perceive a tax shortage in the state.
Scott Jennings, a senior political commentator at CNN and former Bush administration member, remarked that young women are currently seen as “the best and fastest way to get rich.”
Maher elaborated on the issue, indicating that while not everyone is in despair, many people seem to struggle with the financial realities of living in California on a standard salary. He indicated that this challenge is part of a larger issue in the state.
Jennings suggested that change might come from electing a new governor or government and encouraged the idea of trying different political approaches.
In response, Maher reiterated that he doesn’t perceive any dysfunction in California’s tax system, expressing frustration over the same issues he believes others share.
